| I have 2 questions regarding FlexiSquares layout |
 |
I've been searching everywhere and haven't found anything. Hopefully someone can help.
1. How do I add pics to the sides of the journal? There's a LOT of space under my sidebar and I wondered if I could add pics there or if they have to be in the sidebar. If so, how do I do that?
2. One person, who also uses FlexiSquares, tried to show me how to accomplish the photos in the sidebar but I didn't have what she had on hers. She said to go to 'Customize Journal'. Go to 'Sidebars' and find the big box at the bottom with 'Body of Custom Sidebar Module' beside it. Paste the HTML code of pic inside box. Problem is, I don't have that box under Sidebars. Are all FlexiSqares layouts not the same?
I have a Paid account. I'm using FlexiSquares: Eclipse.
PLEASE can anyone help? I know NOTHING about this stuff, codes, etc.
Thanks.

REASON NUMBER ONE BILLION SEVEN HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-EIGHT why DP is awesome.
 RUMIKA! And not just a few second cameo like last time.
 GAA-CHAN!
 Itty-bitty Kojiro AND Gaa-chan!
Screencaps kidnapped from the thread over at BMGf. ^^;
Though, you know, it's a bit odd... Rumika's hair remains red. xD
Now she looks a lot more different compared to Musashi. ^^;
Well, anyway, I'm gonna go look for DP 151.

| Additions and improvements for Paid Feature |
 |
We've made some additions and improvements to Notes!
The Notes feature has been added to two action-taking pages:- You can now add a Note directly on the Add a friend page - handy if you'd like to mark down where you met them or another name you know them by!
- On the Ban and unban users page (under Account -> Privacy) you can now add a Note, including to a group of users all banned at the same time (so that next year you won't need to ask yourself "hey, why did I ban these guys?")
Other changes:- When you're viewing your existing Notes they're grayed out; click in a field to activate it to change the text (this page can be found from the header by using Profile -> Manage Notes)
- Changes to editing:
- When you're going to create a new Note but one already exists, you'll get a warning that you're editing an existing Note
- You can now delete a note from the "Edit note" pop-up in the hover menu
- You can now delete notes for multiple selected users on the Manage notes page
- When you change Notes on "Ban|unban users" page, they can be edited and saved with "Save Changes" button

| LiveJournal Major Notes: Notes, Tweaks, Bug Kills, LJ_Cares! |
 |
|

Notes augmented
We've enhanced and de-bugged Notes. If you haven't tried it yet, now's the time! You can create a private note when you ban multiple users. You can also delete multiple notes at once. Lastly, paid users have the option to add a note (visible only to you) whenever you add or remove a friend (guaranteed to avoid embarrassing social mishaps). If you don't currently have a paid account, you can upgrade now! It only takes a few minutes and costs less than a bad shopping mall haircut (plus, it's way more fashionable)!
Product tweaks and bug kill
- In another effort to zap spam, comments containing links from domains LiveJournal deems untrustworthy are now automatically screened
- If you sign up to get notifications of the Writer's Block question of the day, you'll now see the daily question in the email notification, so you'll have a little extra time to ponder before you post. You can subscribe to Writers Block notifications here
- The issue causing random comments to vanish has been fixed!
- If you visit a LiveJournal page and get prompted to log in, you'll be returned to the same page after you sign in (Thanks, Dreamwidth)!
- If you don't edit the timestamp for an entry at all, the entry timestamp will indicate the time the entry was posted instead of the time the Update Journal page was loaded
- Comments with paddings/backgrounds render correctly within the comment box (and will no longer wrap outside the box and break frames/margins)
New FCK fixes rich text editor!
- We've updated our RTE (Rich Text Editor) to FCKeditor version 2.6.5
- When switching from the RTE to HTML editor, links for syndicated feeds are no longer broken
- RTE now functions properly in Safari 4.0
- An extra line/space will not be auto-inserted whenever you switch from RTE to HTML editor
- The insert image link now works correctly in all browsers
LiveJournal Cares
We’re pleased to introduce you to lj_cares, a new LiveJournal community dedicated to raising awareness and funds for U.S. charitable organizations that improve the health and well-being of people around the world. Each month, we’ll spotlight a nonprofit that is making a significant global impact through medical research, public outreach, and/or humanitarian social programs. Charities will be selected in accordance with the U.S. calendar of national health observances based on a high rating (of over 60%) on Charity Navigator and global scope of impact.

In this, our inaugural month of November, we will celebrate national adoption month by offering a charitable virtual gift (priced at $2.99) to support Love Without Boundaries, an organization that saves the lives of orphans with life-threatening diseases and places them in loving homes around the world. LiveJournal will donate 100% of the proceeds from the sale of charitable vgifts (we'll cover the cost of credit card transaction fees). To learn more about Love Without Boundaries, please visit lj_cares and read about how they helped save Baby Kang and the Rainbow Twins from fatal illnesses, who are now thriving in nurturing families. You can purchase your Love Without Boundaries gifts in the Virtual Gift shop.

| All I caught was the end of the second episode of the two-parter, fff |
 |
What I saw was made of epic win, though, so, er, have my discombobulated ramblings.
 Behold cruddy Keyhole TV quality!
WARNING: MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD.
( Here you go! )
As for last week's episode? I can't believe I forgot how beautiful the voice-acting in this series is. Very well-done. I really liked Jupiter's voice.
Pluto's was also very amusing. He was almost... cute at the end of the episode. At least, the way he looked when he laughed. xD;;;
Handsome has an awesome visor tucked into something of a belt, hidden by his coat, that can read things and displays stats and stuff. It's super-spy cool!

| Network Maintenance: Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 04:00-06:00 UTC/GMT |
 |
EDIT@08:16 UTC/GMT. Wow. That was ugly. I expected it to go for 30 minutes and have maybe 1 minute of broken connectivity. Instead it lasted over 4 hours and we had 10 minutes of downtime directly related to the load balancer upgrades and then another 5-10 minutes of downtime when our primary Pingback database server crashed and the secondary couldn't take over; which could have been indirectly caused by the network upgrade missing a self-VIP.
Anyways, we're up, we're working, the load balancers are barely breaking a sweat right now and I need some food and a shot of whiskey. I don't even *like* whiskey!!
Thanks mhwest and dnewhall for helping out!
---
On Saturday the 14th at 4AM UTC/GMT we will be upgrading the operating system of our network load balancers to a newer version, one that will allow us to use both CPUs! Nifty, because multiprocessing is nice.
Since we have 2 load balancers, the plan is to upgrade 1 at a time, and there really should be very little impact to our website. Hopefully you won't notice a thing and I'll get to go back to the hotel and watch some wonderful late night infomercials.
We've got a lot of exciting projects coming up for 2010 and we're hoping that we'll be able to deliver them all to you, that you will find it useful/cool/lovely and then you will use the site even more. Behind-the-scenes work like this will give us the capacity to handle the anticipated traffic, so expect a few more maintenance windows especially in the beginning of next year as we've got some neat ideas to improve performance around here! We had the recent 30-45 minute outage yesterday due to one of our logging databases filling up disk space -- not so great design coupled with my human error in handling the initial problem -- and it looks like we're going to finally have some resources to eliminate stuff like that. I can't wait!
As usual, I will be updating status.livejournal.org before and after, just in case you are not able to reach our main website during the work.

| School is threatening to devour me OH HEY, CHECK OUT MY NOTES |
 |
So our schools have this annoying thing where if your notebook isn't filled up with colourful ink, the teachers claim you don't care about the subject and think you're lazy.
I'm never all that good for varying the colours I use. Before, it used to be for lack of different colour pens, now? I get confused as to which colours to use from my arsenal. ^^;
So! What I did to remedy this is make a small doodle or design in the corner of the page, colour that, and pattern the rest of the page (or the whole lesson) after it.
So, er, here. Embarassing examples of HEY, THIS IS WHAT LAMEES' NOTES LOOK LIKE. Cool, huh?
If you knew Arabic, you'd realize I have the handwriting of a small child.
The writing in red is my teacher's comment after correcting my notebook. x3; ( Notes follow~ )

[1]Can I include a picture in my links list next to my link? (Example: [image] Link)
[2] Is there a way I can add another box to my sidebar?
Its been awhile since I fussed with FlexiSquares. I'm functional in HTML and CSS.
Feel free to point me to any tutorials/guides/how tos.
Thanks for you help ahead of time.

| DP 150 except incomplete ^^; |
 |
Despite learning their true name a while ago, Roketto-dan/Team Rocket still call Ginga-dan/Team Galactic "suteki fashion." xD Adorable.
Makes Nyasu's otherwise otherwise serious retelling of what happened to Kojiro and Musashi pretty funny. xD
Jupiter's so awesome! And she has a lovely voice to boot. Poor Handsome/Looker. ^^;;;
She's so cool~
And poor Roketto-dan were actually doing something SORT of noble here. xD;;; No luck.
Takeshi's so sweet, taking care of Nyasu. Aww, and Nyasu wants to head back, so valiantly, despite his injuries. Absolutely hopeless, but he looks dang adorable trying. xD;;;
And Satoshi-tachi want to help him out, but I figured Nyasu would have too much pride for that, despite just accepting their help. Fff, he unsheaths his claws and reminds them that they're mutual enemies. ^^;
Hikari's rebuttal? She raises her head and informs him that they will be saving Handsome-san. So they leave seperately, heading for the same location, but only after they leave does Nyasu drop the cold prideful act and shows that he was touched by Satoshi-tachi's willingness to help.
... the heck, I will never wrap my mind around these concepts of pride. AH, WELL.

| LiveJournal Major Notes: Spam counter-attack, RSS feeds again, CSI Deadly Intent contest |
 |

The empire strikes backIn recent weeks, we've taken huge steps towards blocking spam accounts on LiveJournal. In fact, we've suspended as many as 30,000 accounts in a single day! We've implemented several pre-emptive measures to prevent the creation of spam accounts, and we've honed our detection of suspicious content. Spam bots are a crafty lot, so we'll continue to refine our tactics and keep up the good fight to keep you safe from spam attacks on LiveJournal.
RSS feeds againIf you're addicted to , icanhaschzbrgr, or other syndicated feeds, we're pleased to report that we've resolved the update error that was mucking up your RSS feeds. While content was being pulled correctly, it wasn't being posted to the feeds themselves. Late last week, we finally nailed down what we hope was the root problem, so content should post properly. We thank you for your patience.
Wii have killer CSI Deadly Intent contests!

You can mail them to Frank the Goat, Esq., c/o LiveJournal, Inc., 539 Bryant Street, Suite 210, San Francisco, CA 94107. | No cut because they're only two... bear with me here, f-list! |

By the way, Shinji also hates weather.

Quickest oekakiI've done in a long while! Eight minutes, plus a few seconds. Unfortunately, that's below the ten minute time limit at Bulbagarden Oekaki, so I had to retouch it so it meets the limit.
That's alright, though, 'cause I wanted to draw a wind chime in there to begin with, I just got lazy. xD;

| I'm miissing Full Moon o Sagashite, so have a random clip! |
 |
I cry every dang TIME.
Merokoooo... ;____; She goes through so much to get that flower to keep Takuto from remembering! All within the duration of the lunar eclipse or else she's trapped in that cave. Er, not that it ended up very useful...
Truth is, I love watching my favourite characters suffer, so watching her get cut up over and over is one of my favourite things about this. xD;;; I'M A JERK.
Her singing is adorable! Mitsuki and Meroko's duet is just made of cuteness and win.
HOWEVER, I just noticed something incredibly bizzare.
Meroko's rabbit ears...
In the manga, they are part of her body, flap around, and even react to things. They're part of her.
In the anime, at first, they were part of her hat, weren't they? They came off with it when she did her Mero Mero CHEEEENJI transformations. ^o^;
So, er, why are they sprouting from the top of her hatless head here? xD Did the animators decide to be inconsistent with themselves to be consistent with the manga? Never noticed that before!

| I'm alive. |
 |
So just a few days ago I signed up for National Novel Writing Month. I'm using the story idea I've had sitting in my head for the last three years, Lunar: Transitions. I took another look and realized that for the most part, I'm actually more or less done with the character stuff, and just need to hammer out an official event timeline. I even know what type of 'voice' I'm going to use, so maybe having a deadline should get me to finally write it down.
And in the "Yay, victory!" category, today I wore a shirt I bought four years ago and only wore the once. I could only wear it the once back then because my neck was too big and I had trouble closing the top button properly. I slid it on this morning - and was pleasantly surprised to find my working out in the last couple years has done me some real good. Not a lick of trouble this time, so yay for exercise!
I heard back from the city of Copperas Cove about the Communcations Operator job, and am going to be heading to their police department for a briefing about the position on the 10th. I rather hope I get it, I'm finally ready to move out, and the paycheck will help with that. So anyway, that's what's up with me at the moment.
